These groups need to be vaccinated too

REGARDING Covid-19 immunisation efforts, Family Frontiers would like to highlight the serious need for the Malaysian government to ensure that permanent residents and noncitizen spouses and children of Malaysian citizens have access to Covid-19 vaccines.

Close to 150,000 spouse visas are issued by the Immigration Department annually, and given the rising infection rate, Family Frontiers requests that the following groups are included in the government’s vaccination programme along with Malaysian citizens: Noncitizen children with a parent who is a Malay-sian citizen; noncitizen spouses of Malaysian citizens; and permanent residents of Malaysia.
