Family Frontiers’ Lead Coordinator participated in a panel discussion organised by the Bar Council and Malaysian Law Students Network on citizenship rights. During the panel, she spoke on the legal aspects related to citizenship, including the interpretation of the Constitution, the outcomes of Family Frontiers’ case at the Court of Appeal, concerns regarding dual citizenship, delays in the amendment process, and the rights of children. Impacted mother, Mimi shared her story, providing firsthand insight into the challenges faced by Malaysian mothers impacted by unequal citizenship laws. Additionally, Family Frontiers’ Research Coordinator discussed societal attitudes towards the issue and presented findings from a public perception survey on #PindaPerkara14.
