Communicate, Collaborate and Campaign: A #SayaJugaAnakMalaysia Workshop
Recognising the need for stronger communication strategies among civil society organizations in Malaysia, the workshop brought together over 30 participants from across the country for two days of learning and collaboration at the International Youth Centre, Cheras.
In addition to enhancing advocacy skills, the workshop aimed to raise awareness about Malaysia’s gender-discriminatory citizenship laws—particularly in light of the recently passed Constitutional Amendment Bill 2024, which introduced significant changes to citizenship provisions. Among these was the long-awaited amendment granting Malaysian women the right to confer citizenship automatically to their overseas-born children.
